Junior Gunz Backpack
For four years in a row, I have been making ‘end of year’ gifts for my daughter’s cheer team. This one was extra special because it was the year she moved to one of the top cheer gyms in the country. The inspiration for this project was the iconic California Allstars Backpack. This mini replica is filled with things that you might find in a cheerleader’s backpack. It includes so many great photos (many of which were provided by our fabulous team mom, Rosie) from their 2018-2019 season.
On the outside of the backpack you will find a real working zipper, pins that the girls received for hitting a routine with zero deductions, an inspirational clothes pin that athletes from different teams give each other during competitions, a front flap that folds out to reveal a team photo, and a water bottle that has a scroll inside, with team photos from all the competitions.
Once you unzip the backpack, a flap folds down to display pictures of the coaches. As you unfold that panel, you reveal additional pictures from the season. The inside has a pocket on the right side to hold a copy of Cheerleader Magazine, with their team photo on the cover and pages filled with action pictures of each girl. Two medals and a ribbon from their 1st place finishes are displayed on the left side. In the center there is a uniform, champion jacket, and camp tank top, all filled with more photos. Sitting on the base is a miniature version of an Nfinity shoe case that holds an accordion fold out of all the girls on the team.
