About Me
Hi! I’m Cathy Martin – mother, maker, and total paper junkie. When I started my career as a Packaging Engineer almost 30 years ago, I had no idea that as life progressed, the skills I used at work would transfer so seamlessly into a passion for paper crafting and custom decor. My talents as a maker were soon called upon by my responsibilities as a mom when my son was assigned a project in his Kindergarten class to make something 3-dimensional representing the Statue of Liberty.
At the time, I was working for a toy company, and was immediately inspired to craft a substantially sized doll, where I could build the main structure, and then let my son help with cutting and assembling the details. Obviously, a 5-year-old’s attention span led to most of the process becoming a personal responsibility, and the creation soon took on a mind of its own.
But it was a smash hit! To see images, click here.
The doting reaction I received from students, parents, and teachers added fuel to the fire, and soon, I was creating elaborate projects annually for my children’s silent school auction. As time went by, I ended up using crafts as gifts for teachers and coaches, and as a fun way to commemorate the groups and teams my kids were a part of.
Now that both my kids are in college, I am focusing my time and energy towards sharing my passion with others, by creating custom-engineered projects that commemorate a sports season or special event and designing centerpieces and other decor for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.
I try to make every design meaningful and personalized, so if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for on my website, just send me a message and I will work with you to bring your vision to life.
Custom decor, custom designs, custom crafting parties… I am here to help!
